Where did the VFX artist go out to eat?
CGI Friday’s!
aBOUT KIERAN RADLEY
I’m a visual effects artist and 3D generalist with a passion for bringing strong creative visions to life using whatever tool necessary. I’m currently working as a freelance visual effects artist and VFX supervisor in Atlanta, GA. In June 2023 I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Effects from Savannah College of Art and Design, with a minor in Technical Direction. At SCAD artists like me are trained to meet rigorous project deadlines and organizational standards using industry level technology and software.
When I’m not striving to create better VFX faster, I like to unwind by practicing new songs on my accordion. Right now I’m learning a pretty fun ditty called “Kesh Jig,” perfect for the springtime!
MY VFX Origin Story
I’ve wanted to be a visual effects artist since early high school. Freshman year, I took an intro to AAVTC (C for Communications) class at Flower Mound High School that taught the basics of photography, animation, Photoshop, and video editing. If you took it two semesters in a row, you could be a part of the football broadcasting team for the school – which counted as a P.E. credit. I was not the biggest fan of P.E… However, I simply fell in love with the process of editing videos in that class. I’ve been editing videos ever since, and the desire to implement cooler and cooler visuals in my content drove me to pursue visual effects.
About my content
I have a penchant for creating digital media for entertainment purposes. the kinds of videos that illicit a smile and a strong exhale out the nose. A summer project I created for fun in 2019, @clownball on Instagram, consists of quirky videos that have entertained over 500,000 people across the internet. I am a huge fan of superhero stories, magical realism, and visual comedy. My dream is to one day help combine these and bring joy and thrills to audiences everywhere. I also love tricks and illusions- Visual Effects is the best way, in my opinion, to add magic and intrigue that keeps audiences dazzled and “on the hook”.
